Welcoming Michelle Boyd as Executive Director, First Nations AI & Digital Futures Initiative

At Synozur, we recognize that genuine transformation starts with people. By fostering relationships built on trust, and harnessing the strengths of our experience and leadership, we navigate complexity with clarity and compassion.

Driven by these principles, I am thrilled to announce a milestone that reflects our values and ushers in an inspiring new chapter for our team.

Michelle Boyd has been appointed Executive Director, First Nations AI & Digital Futures Initiative at Synozur.

This role represents a deliberate commitment by our firm to ensure that artificial intelligence and digital transformation are shaped with Native American tribes and tribal leaders, and that innovation is grounded in respect, partnership, and measurable community outcomes.

Why This Role Matters

AI is advancing rapidly, but progress without purpose rarely delivers lasting value. For First Nations communities, technology can be a powerful enabler supporting economic development, digital literacy, operational resilience, and long-term opportunity. But only when it is introduced responsibly, with cultural intelligence and trust at the center.

This initiative exists for a simple reason:

Technology should empower, not overshadow.

Creating this role ensures that Synozur approaches AI and digital futures work with intentional listening first, cocreating solutions, and defining success by real world impact rather than speed or hype.

Why Michelle Boyd

I’ve known Michelle for over a decade, going back to our time working together at Avanade. Over the years, I’ve seen first-hand the kind of leader she is and the kind of outcomes she delivers.

Michelle is a versatile, results driven program and transformation leader with a proven track record of delivering substantial business value across diverse industries. She excels at spearheading large scale digital customer transformations, working across both custom-built solutions and enterprise scale platforms to drive measurable outcomes.

Just as importantly, Michelle brings deep experience partnering with C-suite executives and boards, navigating complexity with confidence, and aligning strategy to execution in environments focused on growth, innovation, and long-term value creation

That combination of strategic rigor, delivery excellence, and human centered leadership is exactly what this initiative requires.

As Executive Director, Michelle will lead Synozur’s First Nations AI & Digital Futures Initiative with a focus on:

Co-creation with communities‑creation with communities

Designing AI and digital initiatives collaboratively with Native American tribes and tribal leaders, grounded in sovereignty, culture, and shared priorities.

Responsible, ethical AI

Ensuring transparency, governance, and long-term stewardship are embedded from the start.

Digital literacy and workforce readiness

Supporting communities in building the skills and confidence needed to participate fully in the AI economy on their own terms.

Measurable, meaningful outcomes

Defining success through trust, engagement, and real impact, not technology adoption alone.

There is no one size fits all approach here. Every community journey is unique, and our work will always be tailored accordingly.

A Leader Who Brings Balance

Originally from Newport Beach, California, Michelle is now a proud Seattle area transplant living in Snohomish, Washington. Outside of work, she’s a foster dog mom, home improvement hobbyist, and yoga practitioner bringing a balanced, thoughtful perspective to everything she does

That balance shows up in her leadership. Michelle listens deeply, acts deliberately, and leads with both rigor and empathy.

Looking Ahead

This announcement marks the beginning of a journey not the conclusion of a plan.

In the months ahead, Michelle will focus on listening sessions, relationship building, and early co-design efforts with tribal leaders and partners. Progress will be intentional, grounded in dialogue, and guided by shared priorities

At Synozur, we believe the most meaningful transformations happen when people feel seen, heard, and respected.

That belief is at the heart of this initiative and it’s why I couldn’t be more confident in Michelle’s leadership.

Please join me in welcoming Michelle Boyd, Executive Director, First Nations AI & Digital Futures Initiative.
